Detox Diet Plan

The body needs to be tuned up on occasion and people feel that the best way to tune up the body is to detoxify it. Detoxifying is simply the process of removing harmful toxins in the body that can wreak havoc. The idea of a detox diet plan is to cleanse the body, either through fasting or by eating pure foods. Many people feel refreshed, lighter, full of energy and healthier after they complete a detox. A detox diet is easy to do, and should be done for at least a week to fully shed the body of its toxins.

Detox Diet

    The basic concept of a detox diet plan is get rid of toxins that are ingested into the body through eating over processed foods, drinks, pollution, certain supplements, or drugs. A detoxifying diet consists of eating all-natural foods that will help the liver, kidneys and lymph nodes function more affectively. To start the detox plan simply set aside a week or more. Then go to the grocery store and make sure that you have the essential foods for the diet. Foods that can be eaten on the diet are organic foods and drinks that contain absolutely no pesticides or fungicides. Think food from the garden or a farmers market. Whole unprocessed foods like grains, nuts and seeds. A lofty mix of fresh vegetables and fruit should also be eaten, along with 2 liters of water a day. A few herbs such as yucca root, milk thistle seed, gentian root, psyllium seed and licorice root should also be eaten because they help to aid in the body's detoxifying development. Detoxing is also about avoiding foods like alcohol, caffeine, tobacco, drugs, processed and refined foods, and a few supplements.

Detox Cleanse

    A cleansing detox diet can be achieved by simply consuming at least 2 liters of water that contains lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and grade b maple syrup each day for seven days. This detox should only be done for up to 7 days, because the diet is very extreme and lacks essential nutrients needed for proper bodily functioning. This cleansing diet works the best to rid the body of harmful toxins that can harm the body and the body's systems. Strenuous exercise should be avoided when on this detox diet because the calorie intake is too low, and dizziness and other complications may occur.
